Very pretty buttefly. How did you get so close to it? I always manage to scare them away before I'm close enough for a picture.

Thank you. I guess I was just really lucky with this one. It was at just the right level to photograph and very close to the path I was on, so I didn't need to stalk up on it.

Well it's good for me, and others, that you were so lucky :)

What kind of lens do you use? All I have is an 18-55mm lens so I have to get somewhat close to snap things like aerosmiths and butterflies. I really want to get a 300mm lens though.

I cheat these days and use a compact digital camera, so I have to get pretty close to things too. The days of carting round an SLR camera & equipment are a thing of the past for me.

Hope you get your lens soon and make life easier for yourself!

Well you're doing something right obviously since I keep faving your pictures :)

For me it's a pleasure to be able to carry all that around. I think I've dreamt about owning such equipment for the last 10 years so yay :P

Thanks! :)

One day I hope to be able to afford a digital SLR camera. I've kept my old SLR camera and equipment, but processing and printing 35 mm film is expensive compared to digital.

I can fully understand your pleasure at owning something you've dreamed of for so long, so enjoy and keep taking wonderful photos too!

Ah yeah I can see why that would be both a hassle and an expense. I don't know anything about these things but is it possible for you to get a new camera of the same brand reuse the lenses? That might help? :)

You can bet I'll keep taking pictures. It's like I think in a whole new way. When I drive somewhere I automatically think about how I could transform whatever I see into a picture.

Great idea, thank you. :happybounce: I hadn't considered the option of reusing lenses, I'll definitely look into it now.
